It's time for a new Stash Bash You-Tube hop, and for the month of October we are focusing on 6 x 6 pads! I have mainly used my 6 x6 paper pads for cardmaking, so it's high time I pulled some out for creating a layout!
Keep reading to the end for a list of the talented ladies hopping this month.
I picked up this 6 x 6 pad on clearance for $5 a while back, mainly because I received the coordinating sticker sheet in a kit and still had some left over, and since we spend a lot of our summer on the lake I figured this collection would be perfect! I just never got around to creating a layout with it, so this months push was just what I needed!
As you can see, I cut several patterns into squares and then triangles. I laid the triangles out in a pattern on my background paper, leaving the area where my photo would sit open. And then I stitched along the tops of each triangle. The goal was to make the triangles look somewhat like nautical flags or banners blowing in the breeze. I added a little bit of foam under the lower tips of the triangles to create a bit of a shadow and to make them look more free flowing.
Then I got to work on the rest of the page, adding a couple of layers behind my picture and then embellishing around it.
My title is a wood veneer piece that I heat embossed.
I added some stickers, a die cut journal piece and a tag to the right side of my photo, I really like the way it looks now but I struggled with it a bit at the time.
Since I have a ton of photos of us and the kids and dogges on the lake, and they do not all have an amazing story, I opted to use these phrase stickers as my journaling.
A few more stickers and another wood veneer piece as well as some acrylic stars, finish off my embellishing.
